Owner Mike Acheson grew up in the Sammy’s Pizza business. His parents, Jim and Marguerite (Perella) Acheson opened the Sammy’s in Lakeside, which his older brother, Jim Jr. now owns. Mike managed the Lakeside store for his brother for years before deciding to try slicing off his own piece of the pie. In 2000, Mike and his wife Jane opened Sammy’s Pizza in Cloquet, where – ever since – they’ve been happily serving up the great taste of Sammy’s pizzas along with other traditional Italian cuisine.
